SKills, can some veteran tell me if I got it right?
Well, I'm lvl 10 in prophecies campaign now and want to understand the way to get skills. I finished pre-searing with 9 necromancer skills (got every skill from every skill trainer and one or two from a quest in catacombs) and 5 or 6 mesmer ones. I was looking at gwwiki and found those articles:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Profess...8Prophecies%29 http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Skill_Trainer http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Trainer_locationshttp://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Skill_Quests Ok, so the profession trainer give you skills through quests right? The skills trainer allow you to buy skills you haven't learned, right? The trainer locations, well there are a LOT of trainers there who train necro and mesmer skills, hm what's the difference between this trainers and the others found on this page? Ok, and skill quests are the quests who will give a skill as a reward, fine. Now to the major questions, do I need to find all trainers then find all skill quest givers to get all skills? Or should I just look for the skill quests that I'll find all trainers and free skills? Thx a lot =) |

Do the quests that gives skills as the reward as you find them. Do as many as you can.
These are good because 1) They cost you no gold 2) They cost you no skill points Buy skills from the skill trainers as you decide you need them. These are not so good because 1) They cost you an incremental amount of gold 2) They cost you a skill point Most skill trainers offer the same skills as the last skill trainer plus a couple more. That means that the skill trainer in Ember Camp on the Fire Isles offers you all the non elites in prophercies. There are no skills that can only be gotten throught quests - They are all purchasable at some point (normally further on than when you could have gotten them from a quest) |

In Prophecies you get a good number of skills via quests. But not all, and some of the skills from quests suck. Just progress through the game and as you learn your character more you'll be able to decide what skills work best for your play style.

There are some skills that are only available at a single skill trainer untill you unlock them, once you purchase a skill it becomes unlocked and can be purchased for any new char you make at any skill trainer(in that chapter).
When starting out its best just to buy the skills your using or think you will use, once you beat the game you can go back and buy skills you missed. There is a skill trainer near the end of Proficies(Perdition Rock) that sells all non-elite skills in prophicies. |
